SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento County man received a 10-year prison sentence for attempted coercion and enticement of a child, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced on Wednesday.
In March 2024, 63-year-old Mark Sigl of Antelope was talking with someone he believed was the father of a 10-year-old girl. However, the person was an undercover officer. Sigl expressed his intention to perform sex acts on the child and planned a meeting at a designated location.
When Sigl arrived, law enforcement arrested him, discovering several sex items in his vehicle. Sigl pleaded guilty on July 1, 2025.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Taskforce investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zulkar Khan prosecuted.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
