Metropolitan Transit System trolley service experienced delays on Wednesday morning after a malfunction on the tracks in downtown San Diego.
A track switch issue led to at least two trolleys stalled on the tracks near Columbia and C street around 9 a.m., according to MTS. A witness said it appeared and sounded like the two trolleys had crashed, but a spokesperson for the transit agency said no collision occurred.
Photos appear to show two red trolleys in close proximity and damage to the front of one car.
Buses were being utilized to get travelers around the downtown area while UC San Diego Blue Line trolleys were using Green Line tracks. Service was expected to be back to normal, with some delays, before 10 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
