BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 28-year-old man with a felony warrant was arrested after allegedly running away from deputies and hiding in the backyard of a south Bakersfield home Wednesday morning.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, February 11, at around 10 a.m., deputies identified a person with a felony warrant.

Deputies attempted to stop the suspect, and he ran away.

KCSO said the suspect was eventually found hiding in the backyard of an address in the 3500 block of Pendragon Street.

The suspect, 28-year-old Edward Martinez, was arrested and booked into jail for handling warrant and additional open charges.
