After a successful week of Super Bowl festivities, San Francisco is preparing for its next major event: Lunar New Year.
City leaders spent Tuesday meeting with business owners in Chinatown, discussing preparations and safety measures.
“Hundreds of thousands of visitors came from around the world for Super Bowl 60. We hosted more than 300 events across our city, and our public safety teams were prepared and coordinated,” San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie said. “Now, we’re going to build on that momentum.”
Festivities in the city will kick off this Saturday with the Flower Market Fair. The Lunar New Year Parade will be held on March 7.
Mayor Lurie said the police, fire department and Office of Emergency Management will be fully staffed throughout the celebration.
