SANTA ANA POLICE are seeking a motive in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of two other persons (Shutterstock).
An investigation into the possible motive behind the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of two others in Santa Ana is underway.
According to the SAPD, officers responded to a report of a shooting outside a residence in the 700 block of South Broadway at around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday.
They found a 41-year-old man – identified as Moises Rufino Gil-Benitez of Santa Ana – a 37-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds.
Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded and transported all victims to a local hospital.
Gil-Benitz succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other two victims were listed in stable condition and expected to survive.
Detectives are seeking to identify and find additional witnesses who can provide information about the incident.
