CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) UPD — An investigation is underway following a smash and grab at a KAY Jewelers in Clovis Wednesday afternoon.

The Clovis Police Department says it happened at the store on Herndon and Sunnyside Avenues around 6:23 p.m.

Police say they received several calls regarding a robbery at the store.

Callers reported several people using hammers to smash glass cases before stealing several items.

It’s unclear just how much jewelry was stolen, but it’s believed to be a large loss.

Police say store employees and customers were able to run to safety.

No injuries have been reported.

Police say the suspects left in at least one vehicle.
