A vehicle experiencing mechanical issues stalled on a rail crossing in the University Park area of Los Angeles Wednesday and was struck by an E Line train, but no injuries were reported.

The collision occurred early Wednesday afternoon near the Jefferson/USC station at 3214 Flower St., resulting in minor damage to both the vehicle and train, according to Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, along with personnel from the Los Angeles Police Department, arrived at the scene to investigate the crash. About 50 people aboard the train were relocated to the 23rd Street Station, where they boarded another train to reach their destinations, Ubaldo said.

He added that both the train and vehicle were “moved quickly from the tracks” and that normal service had resumed in the area.
