(FOX40.COM) — Folsom has been rated as the top place to live in California, according to a report, and several other Sacramento Valley cities cracked the top 25.

The rankings, released by U.S. News & World Report, gave Folsom a 6.1 out of 10 score.

The cities were rated based on five indexes, including quality of life, value, desirability, job market and net migration.

The cost of living in Folsom weighed down its overall rating. The median home value in the city is $665,841, while the national average is just over $370,000, according to the report. The median rent is $2,032.

Folsom received a 2.1 out of 10 on the cost-of-living value index.

Folsom’s job market is better than the national average, according to the report, receiving a 6.8 out of 10. The median household income is $141,000, which  Roughly 4% of people are unemployed in Folsom. The national average for unemployment is 4.5%.

Several other local cities cracked the top 25 statewide.

9. Rocklin
10. Elk Grove
12. Roseville
25. Rancho Cordova
32. Clovis

While Folsom was the top-rated city in California, it did relatively poorly nationally, ranked No. 119 among 250. The top city nationwide is Johns Creek, Ga. Texas had three cities in the top 10.

The second-highest-rated California city is Palo Alto.

Folsom is about 15 miles northeast of Sacramento.
