OAKLAND — A 26-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night inside an East Oakland phone repair store, authorities said.
The man’s name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
The shooting happened around 6:45 p.m. inside a phone repair store in the 9800 block of International Boulevard where the man was getting some repairs to a phone, authorities said.
Another man entered the store and began firing multiple shots at the 26-year-old man, who was hit more than once, authorities said. The gunman then fled on foot. The wounded man was pronounced deceased at the business.
Other people were inside the business but no other injuries were reported.
Police have not established a motive yet for the killing, but said the victim was deliberately targeted.
A detailed description of the shooter has not been released.
The killing is the 11th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 14 homicides in the city.
