OAKLAND — A robber hit a 73-year-old woman on the head with a gun and stole her purse Wednesday afternoon in a Montclair district parking lot, authorities said.
The robbery happened about 2:25 p.m. Wednesday in a lot in the 6200 block of Antioch Street.
According to initial police reports, the woman was walking to her car in the lot when a man came up from behind her and grabbed her purse.
The woman briefly struggled with the man over the purse before he pulled a pistol and struck her in the head, according to the initial reports. He then fled in a black Honda Accord.
The woman did not require hospitalization.
A detailed description of the robber has not been released.
