Meanwhile, parts of Sacramento picked up between a tenth of an inch and a quarter of an inch of rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Modesto notched just over four-tenths of an inch and Placerville recorded close to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall. More heavy snow and rain is expected to return to Northern California from Sunday through Wednesday, our weather team said.
