A man was killed in a broad daylight shooting near Turk and Taylor streets on Wednesday morning, according to the San Francisco police department. 

Officers responded to Turk Street just before 9 a.m. and attempted to resuscitate the victim, who was declared dead at the scene. Video uploaded to Citizen showed a body on the sidewalk covered with a tarp, near the entrance to Aunt Charlie’s Lounge.

By Wednesday afternoon, police had arrested Sefanaia Alatini, a 37-year-old Oakland resident, for murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Information for Alatini is not available in jail booking records. 

The victim has not yet been identified. 

Two days prior, on Feb. 9, an East Bay rapper was fatally shot in the Rincon Hill neighborhood after the Super Bowl, and on Jan. 30 a juvenile girl was also fatally killed in a triple shooting near Jefferson Square Park. San Francisco saw its lowest homicide rate in 70 years in 2025, with 28 killings through the entire year.
