FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Bullard High School’s competition cheer team brought home some hardware and made history.

For the first time, the squad won the CIF Central Section Championship.

That was just the beginning.

The hard-working athletes went on to compete last weekend at the UCA National Cheerleading Championship at Disney World in Orlando, bringing home the bronze.

“They worked day in and day out, super, super hard, and they just amaze me every single day with their work ethic,” said Britney Audino, the Bullard cheer coach.

The teammates say they share strong bonds and their faith as they come together in prayer before every performance.

“For us as a first-year team up there, it was super exciting to make it to finals and to even medal, which is unheard of,” said Lizzy McKinley, a Bullard High junior.
