SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – [UPDATE 3:51 p.m.] One woman is dead following a shooting in the 1800 block of North Gate Drive, the Savannah Police Department has confirmed to WTOC.
The female victim died at the scene. Officials say she was found with multiple gunshot wounds. It is currently unknown whether or not the victim and the suspect knew each other, or if there was any motive. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
Both schools in the area have lifted their lockdowns.
In a social media post, the Savannah Police Department asks for anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or use the SPD mobile app.
[UPDATE 3:28 p.m.] Police and emergency crews are still on the scene at North Gate Drive and Oakland Court following a reported shooting. WTOC is also on the scene and will continue to provide updates as they become available.

[UPDATE 3:09 p.m.] Myers Middle School is also on lockdown, officials have confirmed to WTOC.
SCCPSS says there was a reported shooting in a nearby neighborhood.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Savannah Police are on the scene at Sunset Boulevard near Skidaway Road in Thunderbolt.
The area in question is between both Myers Middle School and Johnson High School. Officials have told us that Johnson High School is currently on lockdown, which is standard procedure when there is police activity in the area.
Locals are advised to avoid the area at this time.
