(FOX40.COM) —  The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a suspicious death after police found a 3-year-old boy dead in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon.

Just after 12:30 p.m., SPD responded to a medical aid call in the 3300 block of Douglas Street. When officers arrived, they found a 3-year-old boy who was dead despite lifesaving measures.

At this time, SPD has not released information on the victim’s cause of death; however, it is considered suspicious.

No arrests have been made, but the death remains under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified.
