OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) – Some fifth graders at Wood Memorial Intermediate School brought history back to life today.
They participated in the President and First Lady Wax Museum.
Students presented historical figures all while dressed in costume in front of their posters.
Parents, family members and the community were invited to learn about each historical figure.
Their teacher said she couldn’t be more proud of what her students accomplished.
“They get used to public speaking, and making sure their facts are correct, citing, learning how to cite sources in MLA form, pretty impressive for 5th graders,” 5th grade LA teacher Susan Smith says.
Smith says this is their main project of the year and counts for the highest grade.
