ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – One week after a stabbing put the campus of Oakland University on lockdown, police say they have made an arrest.

The OUPD says they have an 18-year old man from Rochester in custody in connection with the assault which occurred near Van Wagoner House on Thursday, February 5 at 8:15 p.m.

The victim, who was stabbed multiple times and is still recovering, was not a student, and police say they are still searching for one more suspect.

“This was a violent and deeply concerning incident, and we want to reassure everyone in our community that from the moment it was reported, our officers and investigators worked tirelessly and with urgency to identify and apprehend the first suspect,” Police wrote in a statement on the OU Facebook page.

The second suspect is described as a man in his early 20s, 5′8″ – 5′10″ with dark complexion with chin-length dreadlocks wearing a black North Face jacket and white shoes.

Police say they believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to students on campus.
