BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Golden Empire Historical and Modeling Society of Bakersfield is inviting the community to attend its 32nd annual Bakersfield Model Railroad Show in March.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Train shows are set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, according to organizers.
The Bakersfield Model Railroad Show is Central California’s biggest model railroad show and features 20,000 square feet of model railroading, organizers said.

“Shotgun Tom” Kelly, Sirius XM 60’s Gold Radio DJ and model railroader, is expected to attend both days.
Tickets for adults paying in cash at the door are $10 each and there is a $1 service charge for card transactions used to purchase entry. Tickets are valid for entry for both days.
Children 12 years and younger can attend for free when accompanied by a paying adult, organizers said.
Parking will cost $5, according to organizers. Tickets aren’t available for sale online.
