BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — With Opening Day approaching for the Bakersfield College Roadrunners baseball team, CSUB baseball hosted its 2026 Leadoff Dinner tonight with special guest, Cy Young winner and former Dodger, Eric Gagne, to help bring the community closer to the program.

The event, previously known as the Hot Stove Dinner, is designed to connect Kern County with the Roadrunners baseball team. This year’s Leadoff Dinner was held at Legends Event Center (previously 1933).
The dinner featured a special guest and keynote speaker: former Los Angeles Dodgers closer and Cy Young Award winner Eric Gagne. He shared advice with young athletes who hope to follow a similar path in baseball.
