Police arrest man in Oakland following deadly Vacaville apartment shooting

Vacaville police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a homicide at an apartment complex on Monday morning.

Police arrested Michael Ward in Oakland on Thursday. Police say a firearm was recovered during the arrest.

This all comes after a man was found inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

The man, later identified as 24-year-old Davion Calvin, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police ruled Calvin’s death a homicide.

Law enforcement add Ward and Calvin were residents of the same apartment in Vacaville where the incident took place.

The incident remains under investigation.
