David Fuselier

OBITUARY

David Warren Fuselier (68), born April 6, 1957, died on February 9, 2026, from complications following emergency surgery. David was the devoted son of Francis I. and Mary Tate Fuselier of San Jose who predeceased him.

A lifelong resident of San Jose and 1979 graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory School. Starting in 1998, David worked for the Santa Clara County Library System – primarily at the Campbell Branch. A voracious, lifelong reader, he was devoted to his work and to his many colleagues and friends at the library. He enjoyed San Jose’s varied cultural offerings, patronizing everything from comedy clubs and plays to the Opera, Choral Society and Symphony.

In addition, he traveled regularly to Las Vegas – not to gamble, but to enjoy fine dining and live performances. He became an ardent fan and supporter of Sin É Ri-Ra, the house band at Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York.

David is survived by his brother, Dr. Frank Fuselier (ret.) and his wife, Susan, of San Jose; his sister, Linda Fuselier, of San Francisco; and by Frank and Susan’s sons: Francis Anthony Fuselier (his wife, Karen) of Alexandria, VA, and Hilton Head, SC; Christopher Fuselier (his wife, Nicole) of San Jose; and his nephew and godson, Dave Brannigan (his wife, Molly) of Oakland. He was also a Great Uncle to Katherine, Grace, Zachary, Molly, Clementine and Eamon.

The family plans to host a celebration of David’s life for family, colleagues and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his memory to the Friends of the Campbell Library.
