LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) — It was a day of joy and celebration as people at the Long Beach Senior Center got up and moving Friday at the third annual senior prom.

Members of the Long Beach High Student Council put on a show, performing line dances for the attendees.

Besides the dancing, participants played bingo and enjoyed wearing Mardi Gras masks and eating king cake.
“It’s been a while since I been over here, But I am so glad I came today, makes me think about when I was young and could get out there, I just sit and clap now, but It’s still enjoyable to see them,” Dorris Freeman said.

Each year, the Student Council organizes and collects money to put on the dance.
