Restaurant Walk offers tastes of Ocean Beach

The Ocean Beach Restaurant Walk, aka A Taste of OB, is coming to town from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The event, presented by the Ocean Beach Community Foundation in partnership with the Ocean Beach MainStreet Association, invites guests to sample local cuisine through a tasting card granting access to more than 30 participating restaurants, breweries and wine bars. A free shuttle will take visitors throughout OB.

Tickets are $45, with proceeds benefiting OBCF’s efforts to organize community programs including the Holiday Parade and Food & Toy Drive.

Liberty Station to host Halloween festival

Liberty Station will host its annual Halloween at the Station celebration from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Ingram Plaza, 2751 Dewey Road, Point Loma.

The free event will include DJ entertainment, a Hollywood car show, a cornhole tournament, inflatable obstacle courses, crafts, an all-ages costume contest, trick-or-treating and more.

Guests also are invited to donate nonperishable food to the Uniting to Combat Hunger Food Drive for military families and veterans through the Feeding Heroes initiative.

Watercolor Society’s International Exhibition continues at Liberty Station

The San Diego Watercolor Society is presenting its 45th annual International Exhibition, one of the nation’s most prestigious water-media shows, through Friday, Oct. 31, in the SDWS Gallery at Liberty Station, 2825 Dewey Road, Point Loma.

The exhibit showcases 103 paintings selected from 746 entries in 30 countries. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and admission is free. Learn more at sdws.org.

Raising Cane’s opens in Midway District

The latest location of the chicken fingers fast-food chain Raising Cane’s opened Sept. 10 at 3720 Camino del Rio West in the Midway District.

Free family day set for Point Loma

The Point Loma Association will present a free family day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 15, at Westminster Park, 3598 Talbot St.

The event will offer bounce houses, snacks, activities such as gymnastics and rock painting, and a community cleanup with the PLA “Mean Green Team.”
