CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College fell, 86-75, against Saturday afternoon at Conte Forum. Four players reached double-digits, led by Fred Payne with 16 points.

FIRST HALF


California opened with a contested mid-range shot before Boden Kapke knocked down a pair of free throws
The visitors quickly extended their lead to 15-4, but BC responded with buckets from Luka Toews and Kapke to cut the deficit to eight at the 12-minute media
Both sides traded three-pointers midway through the half, with the Golden Bears holding a 27-17 edge with 7:19 remaining
California would go on a 16-6 scoring run across a six-minute stretch to build its lead
The Golden Bears held a 43-28 lead going into halftime

SECOND HALF


BC scored the opening bucket, a Hastings layup. Cal responded with multiple three-pointers, holding a 55-40 lead at the first media
The Eagles and Golden Bears continued to rally off scoring chances, highlighted by dunks from Aidan Shaw
Chase Forte cut the deficit to 11 after scoring six straight points, making it 66-55 with 8:09 remaining
The Golden Bears would hold on down the stretch, though, taking an 86-75 decision
