Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: Mero Mero in Downtown Oxford

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 22, 2025)

Oxford, MI – The quest to feature every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Downtown Oxford for Mero Mero, a cozy Mexican spot with a great view.  Giant windows face the bustle of the Downtown, including Centennial Park.

Sitting at comfy booths or tables, one might enjoy a number of Tex-Mex dishes.

For my visit I had the Adobo Chicken Fajitas with sizzling strips of seasoned chicken, onion and bell peppers served with rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, and sour cream with soft warm flour tortillas. I also had a craft root beer to go with it, made by Northwoods Soda.  The fresh ingredients were plentiful, and made for a great lunch.

Other menu options include all the basics of south of the border fare you might expect, including enchiladas, burritos, tostadas, and tacos. There are even fish tacos, buffalo shrimp, taquitos, hand battered chicken tenders, and flaming hot elote.

Mero Mero is located at 29 South Washington Street in Downtown Oxford. Check out their menu online at www.mymeromero.com.
