FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — More than 2,500 people are expected to gather early Tuesday morning at the Fresno Convention Center for the annual Fresno-Clovis Prayer Breakfast, where Hobby Lobby President Steve Green is scheduled to deliver the keynote message.

The breakfast is set for 7 a.m. on Tuesday in the Fresno Convention Center’s Exhibit Hall.

Green became president of Hobby Lobby in 2004 and helped grow the family business to more than 1,000 stores in 48 states.

The company employs more than 45,000 people and reported more than $7.5 billion in annual sales in 2023.

Green speaks on business and philanthropy, with a focus on how his faith intersects with his life endeavors.

Green also serves as chairman of the Museum of the Bible’s board of directors.

He assembled a team of academics, designers, technology professionals, and other experts to create the 430,000-square-foot museum dedicated to a scholarly and engaging presentation of the Bible’s impact, history, and narrative.

The museum opened in November 2017 in Washington, D.C., near the U.S. Capitol, and saw approximately one million visitors during its first year.

Organizers describe the Fresno-Clovis Prayer Breakfast as one of the highest attended events of the year, drawing faith-based, civic, and community leaders from Fresno County and neighboring areas.

The mission of the prayer breakfast is to lift the community in prayer, unite the Christian community to prayerfully support civic leaders, and have 100 local pastors attend the event.

The local event began in the 1940s, when five businessmen started meeting at a Divisadero Street restaurant for prayer and fellowship.

Christians of all backgrounds from the Fresno and Clovis communities are represented as the meeting has grown into one of the Central Valley’s largest annual community gatherings.
