Park visitor discovers body near lake in Oakland County

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — The body of a man, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered by a visitor to an Oakland County park Monday morning.

The body was found on Wixom Road near Proud Lake in Commerce Township at around 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office states.

Detectives were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death early Monday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer Steve Huber.

The man’s identity has not been shared and no details surrounding possible cause of death have been given.

Further information is expected to be released by the sheriff’s office as the investigation proceeds.
