LADOT opens 30-day public comment period on proposed AB 645 speed safety camera sites.
Eight locations in Council District 11 have been identified for potential speed safety camera installation as Los Angeles moves forward with its Automated Speed Enforcement program authorized under Assembly Bill 645.
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation released a report outlining proposed sites selected using state-mandated criteria, including collision history, roadway design, and proximity to schools. The report marks the start of a 30-day public comment period during which residents can review the findings and submit feedback.
City officials are encouraging community members to participate in the public review process before final decisions are made regarding camera placement.
To submit comments on the program, please do so through the council file public comment section, under Council File. You can also email questions about the program to LADOT staff.
The Automated Speed Enforcement program is intended to reduce serious and fatal traffic collisions by deterring excessive speeding in high-risk areas.
