The CEO of California HIgh-Speed Rail Authority, Ian Choudri, was arrested at his Folsom home this month on suspicion of domestic battery, according to news reports.
The arrest, first reported by KCRA, took place Feb. 4, the day after Choudri appeared at a public event with Gov. Gavin Newsom to celebrate the completion of a railhead facility in Kern County.
Choudri, 57, was arrested just after midnight following a domestic disturbance call to the home, according to The Sacramento Bee, citing Folsom police logs. Officers took Choudri into custody on suspicion of battery of a spouse, a misdemeanor, The Bee reported.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority on Monday night said that it was reviewing the matter and did not have further comment.
Choudri’s attorney, Allen Sawyer, said the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office received an incident report from the Folsom Police Department and declined to file charges against Choudri.
At the time of the arrest, Choudri was with his fiance, Sawyer said.
