Long Branch Sewer Rehabilitation Project proceeds to Phase 2, city says

  • February 17, 2026

ABBEVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Long Branch Sewer Rehabilitation Project in Abbeville will proceed to Phase 2, the city said.

In a Facebook post, the city said it issued a Notice to Proceed for Phase 2 of the Long Branch Sewer Project effective March 2. Work is expected to continue through 2026.

The city said the infrastructure project will upgrade more than 4,500 feet of sewer lines, repair manholes and improve overall system reliability in the Long Branch area.

This phase of the project is also fully funded by grants, which minimizes the impact on local taxpayers, the city said.

During this phase, the city said residents can expect construction in the Long Branch area, minimal overall impacts to traffic and occasional lane closures or temporary traffic adjustments.

The city said this work is a key component of the city’s 2023 Comprehensive Plan, which prioritizes long-term investments in infrastructure, environmental protection and sustainable growth.
