A two-car crash sent one of the vehicles into a power pole in Burbank, prompting a fire emergency and hazmat response Tuesday.

The collision happened on Burbank Boulevard and Vineland Avenue at around 12 noon.

The car that crashed into the power pole was an EV, which created a stubborn auto fire for fire crews to put out, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The scene became more precarious for neighbors and firefighters as the downed power lines from the crash forced crews to try to extinguish the blaze from afar.

NewsChopper4 was overhead as a charred, gray Hyundai EV with a paper license plate came to a standstill against the power pole on a curb.

Two people were evaluated for minor injuries, the LAFD said. No one was taken to a hospital.

The intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Vineland Avenue was closed temporarily.
