Bay Area man dies in skiing accident at Northstar, the second fatal case in almost a week

A Bay Area man died over the weekend while skiing, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.The man, identified as 53-year-old Stuart McLaughlin of Hillsborough, was skiing when he got into an accident at Northstar Ski Resort, the sheriff’s office said. The agency’s coroner unit responded to the accident at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.”We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones,” the sheriff’s office said.McLaughlin’s death is the second one at the resort in almost a week. On Feb. 11, 26-year-old Nicholar Kenworthy of Los Angeles died while on the advanced Martis Trail.KCRA 3 reached out to Vail Resorts Inc. for comment on the latest accident.No other details were released. A Bay Area man died over the weekend while skiing, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
