Movie fans, your time is now! The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is hosting a free-for-all day this weekend, where you can stop by at no cost.
That’s right! This Sunday, February 22, 2026, you can enter The Academy Museum for free. This is just one of the museums offering free admission this month.
How do you get in?
According to the website, visitors don’t even need to reserve tickets. “Simply show up and let us welcome you.”
What’s there to see at the Academy Museum?
Open exhibitions at the Academy Museum include their brand new PONYO exhibit, which features some of Hayao Miyazaki’s drawings, as well as Beauty and the Beast, Jaws, Barbie to Anna Karenina, Cyberpunk, a Godfather experience, Bong Joon Ho, Sound of Metal, and more. You can also explore their new Screenwriting: Takes on LA Noir gallery, or learn the art of camera-less filmmaking in a Drop-In Workshop.
How much is it normally?
If you can’t make it this Sunday, the Academy Museum is open Wednesday through Monday, 10 am through 6 pm. Typically, general admission to the Academy Museum is $25 for adults, $19 for seniors, and $15 for students. Children under the age of 17 can get in for free, as well as California residents with an EBT card. Visitors who stop by after 4:30 pm can also get a discounted rate: adults for $18, seniors for $15, and students for $10.
