The California Highway Patrol temporarily closed the southbound 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles due to a tree dangling over the highway.
Crews were working to remove the fallen tree after drivers reported it overnight.
The CHP was diverting traffic off the freeway at the 405 off ramp as the closure stretched from Sunset Boulevard to Wilshire.
The fallen tree was reported at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday in the 11300 block of Albata Street and South Church Lane, adjacent to the 405 Freeway, where it damaged the sound wall, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
A Sigalert was issued for the closure of the Sunset Boulevard off-ramp and the southbound lanes of the freeway.
The freeway reopened around 5 a.m.
