Steady rainfall and strong winds from an overnight storm left behind several fallen trees and even knocked down a stoplight on Wednesday.
Drivers woke up to damage in several areas across LA for their morning commute.
Strong winds knocked down a traffic light that was left still blinking along The Old Road and Henry Mayo Drive.
In West Los Angeles, a fallen tree was reported dangling over the southbound 405 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol shut down a stretch of the highway as crews worked to remove it.
In Arlington Heights, a large tree fell onto a car and blocked the street. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene, but said they did not have the equipment to remove the tree.
“It’s devastating because, you know, that’s like my childhood,” homeowner James Melchor said. “I grew up with this tree, it’s been in my family for generations. It’s like, one of the biggest Brazilian pepper trees in Los Angeles.”
As that tree fell down, it took down a piece of another nearby tree.
The poor visibility has caused problems for residents waking up to fallen trees, debris and even flooding in some areas.
A similar problem was reported in Koreatown where a man on a scooter was seen crashing into a tree that fell onto the road.
