BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — As Kern County celebrates Black History Month, a local organization is launching an initiative aimed at empowering leaders in our community.
Kingdom Men of Action was created to bring men of color together to support each other and serve their community.
The group is now launching Kern Leaders Rising to help strengthen and provide mentorship to young men in Bakersfield.
Pastor Traco Matthews joined ARC Bakersfield to share more about what the organization hopes to accomplish.
The group meets in the historic Woolworth’s Building in Downtown Bakersfield.
Matthews says the location gives the group the opportunity to honor civil rights history.
