McLaren Health Care expands Oakland County footprint with addition of Clarkston Medical Group

CLARKSTON, MI – McLaren Health Care is expanding its presence in Oakland County after announcing that Clarkston Medical Group has joined the statewide health system.

Clarkston Medical Group, a regional network of primary and specialty care providers, serves patients across northern Oakland County and surrounding communities. The group includes 54 providers across 11 locations in Clarkston, Pontiac and Bloomfield Hills.

“The Clarkston Medical providers and care staffs have earned and maintained the trust of thousands of families over its many years, and we are proud to bring them into the organization,” said Phil Incarnati in a statement, president and CEO of McLaren Health Care. “Together, with our shared access and resources, we aim to further expand the availability of coordinated, patient-focused care while also ensuring patients continue to receive the same level of service they have come to expect and rely upon.”

The move builds on a partnership between the two organizations that dates back to 2009, including their shared work at the McLaren Clarkston medical campus. Clarkston Medical Group officially joined the system on Dec. 31.

Under the new structure, the practice will operate within the newly formed McLaren Community Based Primary Care Group, a subsidiary of McLaren Medical Group, and will retain its existing clinical and support staff.

McLaren officials said the alliance will help meet the needs of a growing patient population in Oakland County.

Founded as a single office in 1961, Clarkston Medical Group has expanded over the decades and now cares for tens of thousands of patients throughout northern Oakland County.
