BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Two people were injured after a shooting in southeast Bakersfield Wednesday morning.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on February 18, 2026, at around 11:11 a.m., officers received a call for service in the area of Frank J. Fletcher Street and William F. Halsey Avenue, reporting a possible gunshot victim.
When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from major injuries.
Police said another person was found with moderate injuries.
The incident happened less than 10 minutes before officers were called to a person with injuries from a shooting at Golden Valley High School.

Police said the two incidents may be related, but cannot confirm.
There is no suspect information at this time, and no one is in custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
