A man was injured after being struck by a forklift at a business in Oakland late Tuesday morning, Feb. 17, authorities said.

Oakland police officers were dispatched to 40 Edison Ave., for a report of a man struck by a forklift at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to Acting Oakland Police Capt. Stephen Broek.

Officers provided medical aid to one injured individual, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment by the Oakland First Aid Squad and Valley Health System paramedics, Broek said.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, and the scene was turned over to OSHA for further investigation, according to Broek. Daily Voice has reached out to OSHA for comment.
