The musical comedy stage production “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman!” touches down in Long Beach, California for a limited run this February and March.
Produced by Foster Cats Productions and Harry White, the production boasts some serious Hollywood pedigree – it’s associated with the Oscar-winning producer behind “The Elephant Man” and “The Producers”, alongside the Tony-nominated producer of Broadway’s “Buena Vista Social Club”. The show itself was written by the same team behind the Oscar-winning films “Superman: The Movie” and “Bonnie and Clyde”, with a score from the composers of “Annie” and “Bye Bye Birdie”.
The rarely staged musical comedy promises a fresh and fun take on the iconic superhero, running at The Long Beach Playhouse for six performances: February 20-22 and February 27-March 1, 2026. Evening shows begin at 8:00pm, with Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
Tickets are $35, with a $4 service charge applied to online purchases (no charge for in-person or phone orders). Seating is assigned and can be selected at the time of booking. Theatergoers should note that the Studio Theater is located on the second floor of the building, accessible by stairs only.
Book your tickets through The Long Beach Playhouse website.
