Three San Bernardino County men were arrested in connection with an illegal narcotics operation and the unlawful possession of firearms that also uncovered the possession of several explosive devices, officials announced.
On Feb. 17, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division served a search warrant in the 13150 block of Maplewood Drive in Yucaipa.
“During the search of the residence, deputies located multiple firearms, ammunition, and suspected fentanyl,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release. “Deputies also discovered several suspected explosive devices inside the residence.”
The discovery of the alleged explosive devices prompted safety protocols and the evacuation of the residence along with approximately 10 other nearby homes, while the SBSD Bomb and Arson Division responded, along with federal agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

“After examining the devices, personnel safely rendered the items inoperable and removed them for proper disposal,” sheriff’s officials said. “Once the area was determined to be safe, residents were allowed to return to their homes.”
