BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Health officials are raising concern as measles cases continue to spread around the United States.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported more than 900 confirmed cases already this year.
That includes five new outbreaks in less than two months.
The U.S. saw around 2,300 confirmed cases for the entirety of 2025, making this year’s already elevated case number even more concerning.
Chief Medical Officer of Diagnostics at Health Track RX Doctor Steve Goldberg joined ARC Bakersfield to share how this disease is spreading and what the community can do to stay healthy.
Goldberg says measles symptoms to look out for include a rash with small white spots, red or watery eyes, a runny nose and a cough.
