FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Fresno Unified is warning students and their families about a new phone scam targeting them.
A message was sent to families via the ParentSquare app, alerting them about reports of scammers posing as district representatives attempting to sell a laptop for student use.
FUSD also said that district representatives will never call or visit families to sell laptops or any other devices.
It’s unclear how many families were impacted by the scam.
District officials are reminding them to stay alert and say that if they’ve already fallen victim to the scam, they should report the incident to their school principal or Fresno Police.
