Rotary runs annual Scholarship Raffle
Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary’s fifth annual Scholarship Raffle raises money for high school seniors in Carlsbad who are interested in going to college trade/vocational schools. Financial assistance for enrichment programs
The City of Encinitas is starting a Senior Citizen Activity Assistance Program for older adults to get financial help with fees for the City’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts programs, ranging from painting to fitness classes. Residents of Encinitas and Cardiff who are 60 and older and demonstrate financial need, can get up to 50% off program registration fees. Eligible participants who submit a Senior Activity Assistance Application can receive up to $300 per fiscal year in financial support. The Augie’s Quest Classic golf tournament is on March 16 at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, 15150 San Dieguito Rd. Sheriff’s volunteers sought
The Santee and Lakeside Sheriff’s Stations are recruiting men and woman age 50 and older to join their Volunteer Sheriff’s Patrol. Duties include patrolling residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, business parks, schools, local parks and assisting with traffic control, home vacation and elderly welfare checks. After completing the 10-day academy, volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of one six-hour patrol shift each week and attend a one-hour monthly meeting.
