Trees + Dreams initiative aims to replant 5,000 trees across Los Angeles over five years.

A student-led environmental initiative formed in the wake of the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires will host a community music event Sunday at Simon Meadow in Temescal Park, bringing together local schools to raise awareness and support for long-term recovery efforts.

The event, titled “Music Meadow,” is scheduled for Feb. 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Simon Meadow in Temescal Park. Organizers say the gathering will feature student musicians from Crossroads School, Palisades Charter High School, Windward School and New Roads School.

The concert is organized by TREEAMS — short for Trees + Dreams — a student-led movement focused on planting trees, restoring neighborhoods and promoting environmental resilience following the January 2025 wildfires.

TREEAMS was co-founded in partnership with Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, along with Seven Arrows Elementary School, Little Dolphins by the Sea Preschool, the SoLa Foundation and the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies.

TREEAMS has set a goal of planting 5,000 trees over five years and raising $2 million to fund tree care, educational outreach and collaborative partnerships. Organizers say 100% of donations will go directly to the initiative.

In a social media post promoting the event, organizers said Music Meadow will take place in the same area where Goodall previously addressed the community, encouraging residents to “believe in hope through action.”
