Callie Prendiville Johnson is The Electric Company Theatre’s co-artistic director (a role she shares with her husband, Brian). She sees theater as a way to educate students and adults about Fullerton’s history, and as a means of tackling real-world issues and values in an entertaining setting.

“As we consume stories, they inform the way that we think about the world more than a lesson (would).
I think kids are naturally really empathetic, and theater is such a great empathy builder and empathy tool.
We want the people who are on our stages to reflect our actual community that we’re a part of, which is very diverse.
Anything that brings people physically together into the same room, to laugh and cry about the same thing, is a good use of our time.
We’re passionate about providing opportunities for students who might not otherwise see a play if their class didn’t take a field trip (here).”
