Four people were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Long Beach overnight, police say.
The Long Beach Police Department confirmed to KTLA that the crash was reported around 1:18 a.m. Saturday on Lakewood Boulevard near East Spring Street, which is adjacent to the Long Beach Airport.
“Four individuals were in the vehicle,” LBPD said. “Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined all four occupants deceased at the scene.”

Video from the scene shows the silver Honda sedan involved in the crash caught fire, and firefighters were seen dousing the flames. According to a man who arrived at the scene just after the crash, the car had smashed into the center divider of the tunnel on Lakewood Boulevard.
“The first thing we see is a car smashed into the center divider of the tunnel underneath the Long Beach Airport,” the witness said. “It was fully involved in flames…it was just mangled. It looked like a mess.”
“It’s an extremely sad and unfortunate situation,” he added.
The ages and genders of the four decedents were not released. It was not immediately clear whether speed or impairment played a role in the collision.
Authorities advised drivers to seek alternate routes if they have to travel through the area of Lakewood Boulevard near the Long Beach Airport on Saturday morning. Lakewood was still closed between East Spring Street and Willow Street as of 7 a.m.
