Huntington Woods Welcomes Melissa Prowse as Parks and Recreation Director

Huntington Woods, MI – Melissa Prowse joins the Huntington Woods Recreation team after 19 years at Oakland County Parks and Recreation, where she oversaw the planning and development of the county park system as well as the management of the natural resources department.
Prior to the county, she was a Program Associate at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
As a life-long Michigander, Melissa has a passion for the outdoors and grew up camping and hiking all over northern Michigan and throughout the country. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Master of Urban Planning from Wayne State.
Prowse lives in Clawson and currently serves as the Chair of the Clawson Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. In her downtime, Melissa can be found working in her native gardens, doing yoga, or watching her daughter play volleyball. She’s excited to get to know the community and its residents and work with the Parks and Recreation team to continue providing excellent parks and recreation programs for Huntington Woods!
