Four people were killed in a fiery crash near the Long Beach airport early Saturday morning, Feb. 21.
Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to Lakewood Boulevard, south of Spring Street. Four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement.
Their ages and genders were not available.
News video at the scene shows a car had slammed head-on into a wall at the entrance of the Long Beach Airport tunnel before the vehicle burst into flames.
Police said it was unknown whether speed, or distracted or impaired driving contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
