From the Archives heads up to the old Mt. Laguna Air Force Base for this photo from May 15, 1959, when children were able to check out the radar equipment to celebrare Armed Forces Day. The base was a surveillance radar station that operated from 1951 to 1981. That year the Air Force turned it over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
